Lee is currently assigned as a Lieutenant Watch Commander for a
Southern California police department. He teaches courses on Arrest & Control, Officer Safety & Field Tactics, Police
Baton, Basic Gang Investigations, Search Warrants for Field Officers, Law Enforcement Officers Flying Armed, Court & Temporary
Holding Facility Operations, Tactical Communications (PSP), Instructor Development, and Presentation Skills.
He holds POST Basic, Intermediate, Advanced, Supervisory, Supervisory
Leadership Institute and Master Instructor certificates. Lee served on the POST Field Training Officer Program
Ad-Hoc Committee as well as the Curriculum Advisory Team for the gang murder block of the ICI Homicide Investigations
Course. He also teaches the gang murder portion of the homicide course. Lee works as a mentor to candidates enrolled
in both the POST Master Instructor Development Program and the Institute of Criminal Investigation Instructor Development
Course. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Public Administration from the University of La Verne (California)
and is currently enrolled in the Master of Science in Administration of Justice & Security program at the University of
Phoenix.
He has served collaterally as a POST-certified Defensive Tactics/Baton Instructor for over
17 years, and taught Arrest & Control and Baton courses at the Palomar College Police Academy for six years. Lee has
served as his department's Defensive Tactics Program Coordinator since 1996, and sits on all officer-involved shooting training
review committees. He holds a second degree black belt under Sensei Herb Olayvar and teaches Shorin-Ryu
Okinawan Karate at a local neighborhood Resource Center.
